Soncino, Israel
(d. 1492)
   Italian printer. He was a physician. He set up a Hebrew press in Soncino, Italy with his son. They produced a tractate of the Talmud in 1484. Later they produced a complete Hebrew Bible with illustrations. Moving to various towns in Italy, the family began to print in Latin and Italian.
